When Gearbox Publishing Amsterdam approached Diva to support the release of their darkly charming rogue-like, we were thrilled. Have a Nice Death had already been in Steam Early Access for a year and had earned a keen following. Our task was to run a full EMEA PR campaign to raise awareness before moving into preview, review, and post-launch beats.

A CAMPAIGN TO DIE FOR

Our campaign needed to balance communicating new content to existing fans whilst tapping into a wider reach of influencers, media, and consumers who had yet to be inducted into Death Inc. Alongside our incredible partner agencies in France and Germany, this led to us working with Nintendo Life (UK), Nintendo Town (FR), and N-Tower (DE) to secure exclusive interviews with the devs. We also collaborated with media outlets in the UK, DE, and FR to offer custom Switch controller giveaways, which were enthusiastically received.

A WALK AMONG THE LIVING

With in-person events very much back from the dead, we organised a press junket in Paris, where journalists had the opportunity to play the game and speak with the developers in-person. We also exhibited Have a Nice Death at WASD 2023, where it received an overwhelmingly positive response from attendees. It received further exposure at the event via a main stage livestream with Jesse Cox, which enabled us to showcase the charms of Death Inc. to an even wider audience.
