After the massive success of Hyper Light Drifter, it was only a matter of time before Heart Machine ventured deeper into the Hyper Light universe. Enter Hyper Light Breaker—a bold, unexpected evolution that stunned both fans and critics alike. Not a sequel. Not a prequel. Instead, a fresh new take that redefines what players thought they knew about this world.
With every game launch, the challenge is clear: craft a cohesive strategy while teasing out key details at just the right moments—ensuring the right message reaches the right people at the right time. That’s where we came in.
Our mission? To design and execute a fully integrated EMEA communications campaign, guiding Hyper Light Breaker from announcement to preview, all the way to early access. Here’s how we made it happen:
In 2023, alongside strategic press outreach and interview placements, Diva secured a major win: a 14-page cover feature and in-depth interview with the prestigious UK publication Edge, also published on GamesRadar+. This extensive coverage set the stage for Hyper Light Breaker to make a lasting impression ahead of its next big moves.
To ensure Hyper Light Breaker made a strong impact across European markets, we aligned our preview and interview strategy with GDC 2024, securing placements with top-tier UK and EU outlets. We booked 12 exclusive preview sessions with key EMEA publications, including Edge, Eurogamer, PCGamesN, GAMINGbible, GLHF, VG247, Rock Paper Shotgun, and JeuxVideo.
Expanding beyond traditional media, we brought in some of the UK’s top influencers—BigFuzzyYak, ChocolateKieran, joesephyr, and Xbox On—for an extended hands-on experience. Their gameplay sessions and insights helped amplify Hyper Light Breaker's reach, ensuring the game gained maximum exposure across diverse gaming audiences..
The result? Consistently positive and high-impact coverage that built anticipation across the region.
Early access launched in January 2025, and we kicked things off in style—with not one, not two, but three exclusive preview events. First stop: Munich. Then London the very next day. And finally, Paris just 24 hours later. Pulling off three major events in three cities back-to-back was no small feat, but the turnout, energy, and coverage exceeded expectations.
A huge thank you to our partner agencies, Reset and Marchsreiter, for helping deliver stellar events in Paris and Munich. With nearly 40 targeted creators and media outlets publishing features on Hyper Light Breaker, the early access launch couldn’t have started on a better note.
